No panic buys at Tranmere Rovers - Les Parry

Les Parry
Parry's re-building programme is in full flow at Prenton Park

Tranmere manager Les Parry says he will not be forced into panic buying.

Rovers have had several trialists, but Parry told BBC Radio Merseyside: "The players we bring in have to be the right players and right for the club.

"We can't just be bringing them in because we're short on numbers. We'll keep on looking and we hope to unearth one or two nuggets."

"On average we get offered five or six players a day, and the later you get, the more desperate players get."

He continued: "But it's no good just bringing them in. You have to sift through them and bring the ones that you think will do OK.

"I'm sure they'd like the guarantee of two or three games [to impress] but they're just not getting it."
