Tranmere manager Les Parry says he plans to bring a striker on loan to Rovers with the 'Les Aid' initiative money generated by fans at the club.
Parry has £11,500 to spend from the donation together with funds provided by the board of directors.
"We've been looking at strikers and we have a list in my office of about 30 or 40," Parry told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"We've trawled through most of them to be told that they are unavailable. But we'll keep on working."
"It is difficult to get a striker," he added. "But that's our aim at the moment to bring a striker in."
Parry is also hopeful of adding another left back to the squad before the deadline for emergency loan signings expires on Thursday.
The players who currently fill that position, Zoumana Bakayogo and Aaron Cresswell, are suspended for Saturday's trip to Brighton.
