Broomes has had spells with Blackburn, Stoke and Preston
Defender Marlon Broomes has said that he is hopeful of securing a long-term contract with Tranmere Rovers.
Broomes, 31, has joined Rovers on non-contract terms until the end of August after being released by Blackpool.
He told BBC Radio Merseyside: "It's down to the coaching staff if they want to make that a longer contract, but I'm really enjoying my time here.
"I haven't played much football, so I'm nowhere near match fit and I feel like there's more to come from me yet."
The former Blackburn trainee, who has also had spells at Sheffield Wednesday, Preston and Stoke, made his debut for Rovers in 4-0 victory over Grimsby in the first round of the Carling Cup.
And, after spending most of his career in the second tier of the English football, Broomes feels he is capable of performing in League One.
"I'd like to think so, and I'm quite comfortable playing at either full-back or centre-half," said Broomes.
"I'm sure that will stand me in good stead because I'm quite versatile and I can do a job anywhere along the back four."
