Tranmere goalkeeper Danny Coyne has admitted the reason he came back to the club was the prospect of the team playing in the Championship again.
The former Wales international returned to the club in July 2007 after spells with Grimsby, Leicester and Burnley.
"I spoke to the gaffer about what the plans were and he said the aim was to get back in the Championship," Coyne told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"That convinced me and that's one of the reasons why I came back."
Rovers are currently sixth in League One, which would be enough to secure them a play-off place at the end of the season.
Coyne is positive Rovers can keep that place despite pressure from Scunthorpe.
"The play-offs are our aim and at the minute we're giving ourselves a chance. We've got a couple of tough games coming up ourselves," he said.

"But you look at Scunthorpe's run-in and they've got a couple of tough games as well."
Rovers travel to Leeds United on Saturday and Coyne said the games against the top sides in the league are ones they relish.
"None of the games are easy but when you're playing the top sides it makes it more difficult.
"Its a massive game for us on Saturday and we're all looking forward to it."
