Walsall 0-1 Tranmere

Bas Savage sank Walsall with a vital late goal that lifts Tranmere into the League One play-off places.

Walsall had hit the bar through Michael Ricketts' volley but Rovers dominated and Saddlers' goalkeeper Rene Gilmartin made a string of high-quality saves.

Gilmartin briliantly denied Ian Moore and Ian Goodison, while Antony Kay somehow headed Moore's cross wide.

But Savage met Eddy Sonko's cross at the far post to finally break the home side's resistance with 10 minutes left.
