Tranmere Rovers striker Bas Savage believes the confidence manager Ronnie Moore has placed in him has helped him improve his performances.
The 27-year-old has been a virtual ever-present for Rovers since joining the club on a free transfer from Millwall in the close season.
"It's nice to have people in your corner," he told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"I'm starting more games then I'm on the bench and that breeds confidence in me to go out and do what I do."
Savage, now at his eighth club in six years, feels settled at Prenton Park after signing a two-year contract on his arrival in the Wirral.
He has made 31 appearances and scored five goals for Ronnie Moore's side this season and has been deployed as a lone striker and as part of a two-man attack.
The Londoner has said he is happy to play wherever he is selected, but does favour playing as part of a 4-4-2 formation.
"My preference is playing the two but there's some games where you need to change tactics and you've got to be able to adapt in matches as well when things aren't going so good.
"It's always nice to have a different string to your bow," said Savage.
