Tranmere Rovers have completed the double signing of midfielder George O'Callaghan and striker Bas Savage.
O'Callaghan, 28, joins from Irish side Cork City, subject to international clearance from the Irish FA, while Savage, 26, has joined from Millwall.
O'Callaghan told BBC Radio Merseyside he is now targeting promotion.
"Tranmere are very popular back in Ireland and it's a club that should certainly be in the Championship, I think that's the whole aim this year."
O'Callaghan has previously played for Ipswich and had a spell on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion.
He began his career at Port Vale before moving to Cork in 2002, where he made 150 appearances and scored 23 goals, he also picked up a league championship winners medal in 2005.
Ronnie Moore had been keen to bolster his attacking options from midfield but O'Callaghan insisted he is not feeling any extra pressure to score goals for his new club.
"I've got nine goals in maybe 13 or 14 games for Cork City this year, I'm sure the gaffer's going to use me the right way and if I get that chance I feel I can score goals from midfield."
Former Millwall striker Savage decided to join Tranmere after being offered a two-year deal by manager Ronnie Moore.
And he explained why he had joined: "I was at Millwall on a short-term contract but I just need some stability in my life, which I've been searching for for a few years now and luckily enough Tranmere have asked me to come down and be a part of their squad."
Savage had spells with Wycombe, Bury and Bristol City before joining Millwall in January 2008.
He saids he can play the target-man role that Ronnie Moore is so keen to fill: "Probably my main strength is holding up the ball and being a presence up front and bringing others into play."
