Paul Buckle wins League 2 manager of the month award

Buckle's side are currently second in the League Two standings

Torquay United boss Paul Buckle has been named the League Two manager of the month after the Gulls 100% start during August.

It is the first time the 38-year-old has won the award during his three years at Plainmoor.

Buckle said: "This award is testament to all the hard work put in by the players, back-room staff, and everyone connected with the club.

"It is lovely to be rewarded in this way and I am extremely proud."

During August, Torquay beat Northampton 3-0, Lincoln 2-0, Bradford 2-0 and Port Vale 2-1 to go top of League Two.

Alan Curbishley, chairman of the manager of the month award panel said: "Buckle's side have been outstanding in all departments and deserve special praise for being the only side in the entire Football League to maintain a 100% record throughout August."
