Torquay fans celebrate their play-off win over Cambridge at Wembley in May 2009
Torquay United fans are amongst the best behaved in the Football League, according to Home Office figures.
Gulls' supporters were the only fans in the country not to receive a banning order, while only two were arrested in the 2008-09 season.
Torquay manager Paul Buckle told BBC Sport: "Support is not about abusing managers and opposing players.
"It's about having some dignity when you're at games and our supporters have been fantastic whilst I've been here."
Hayden Jones, chairman of the Torquay United supporters' trust, added: "Whilst it may be an old adage, Torquay is a friendly club and family club.
If you want friendly football then Plainmoor is a great afternoon out
Hayden Jones
"Generally if away fans are willing, we'll always mingle with away fans and chat and talk about football.
"I want to relax at the weekend, I don't want to be looking over my shoulders, and if you want friendly football then Plainmoor is a great afternoon out."
