Buckle has taken Torquay back into the Football League after a two year absence.
Torquay United boss Paul Buckle has said he is thrilled to have gained promotion following Sunday's play-off win against Cambridge.
"It's a massive prize," he said. "Obviously the biggest thing is getting back into the Football League.
"I've had disappointments at Wembley over the last two seasons, but this certainly makes up for it," he added.
Torquay beat Cambridge 2-0 on Sunday to claim the final promotion spot from the Blue Square Premier.
The Gulls took the lead in the 35th minute through Chris Hargreaves after Cambridge had edged the opening exchanges.
Buckle praised his side for sticking to their game-plan and being confident when out of possession.
"I felt that we knew what we were doing; we allowed them to have the ball in deeper positions, sat back and counter-attacked very well.
"I said to the players at half-time, the louder the game gets don't panic, enjoy it, stick to what we know and let's go for the next goal."
In the second period Cambridge had Phil Bolland sent off for a second yellow card, before Tim Sills confirmed Torquay's victory and subsequent promotion into League Two with a 75th-minute goal.
And Buckle summed up the feelings of Torquay's travelling contingent when he added: "It's the most wonderful day today."
