Buckle is hopeful that Tim Sills will be fit for Saturday's game with Barrow
Paul Buckle has praised his injury-hit Torquay side following Tuesday night's victory at Altrincham.
Wayne Carlisle got another late goal to seal the 1-0 win at Moss Lane.
Buckle handed Mark Ellis a rare start and was without strikers Tim Sills, Iyesden Christie and Roscoe Dsane.
"I'm really proud of the team tonight. Our fitness levels were there for all to see and were were brave," Buckle told BBC Radio Devon.
Buckle hopes to have leading scorer Tim Sills back sooner, rather than later, after he was forced out with a hamstring injury. But he hopes his side can repeat Tuesday's form when they entertain Barrow this Saturday, regardless of Sills' return.
"I'd be more than happy to go into battle with the 11 and the four pros and one of the kids again because they deserve to play again on Saturday.
"It was a tremendous effort and I'm hoping to have Sillsy back and Iyesden [Christie], but you've got to be careful with hamstrings. If I push that one I'll lose Tim for the season and he's a massive player for us.
"You ask players to come in and do a job and there's something to be said for that and something to be said for me keeping faith with that same 11.
"They've earned the right for that so hopefully come Saturday I'll have Tim but have the luxury of leaving him on the bench or not putting him in at all."
