Torquay United are through to the FA Trophy third round following a 1-0 win over Rushden & Diamonds.
A second-half Chris Hargreaves goal capped an outstanding individual performance by the Gulls captain.
A Lee Hodges free-kick was turned away by Rushden stopper Dale Roberts early on but Diamonds' striker Lee Tomlin wasted four chances.
Tomlin could have levelled the scores, but his near-post shot was well saved by goalkeeper Scott Bevan.
