Torquay United boss Paul Buckle says he is hoping his side's pre-season tour to north Devon will help his squad gel.

The team beat Bideford 2-0 in their opening Errea Cup group match thanks to goals from new signings Mustapha Carayol and Tyrone Thompson.

"We'll try and get a few things out of the week and staying away together for four days will be great," Buckle told BBC Radio Devon.

"The players are getting to know each other off the field as well as on."

The Gulls face Eastleigh on Thursday, with a victory possibly putting them through to the final of the tournament on either Saturday or Sunday.

The side will also face a Chelsea XI on Saturday 26 July at Plainmoor.
