Ritchie was in his second loan spell with Swindon Town

Portsmouth midfielder Matt Ritchie has completed his expected move to Swindon Town for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old wide man, who has been at the County Ground since October and has hit four goals in 15 appearances, has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal.

"I've been at Portsmouth a long time and seen a lot happen," he said.

"It was where I was born and it's the club I've supported so it is difficult to leave but I need to do what's right for me now," he told BBC Wiltshire.

"This season I didn't have the best of starts and I wanted more from myself but, in the last couple of weeks, I've scored a couple of goals and that's given me confidence.

"Hopefully I can go on putting in good performances."

Ritchie was in his second loan spell at Swindon, having spent almost two months at the club last spring.
