Goalkeeper David Lucas believes Swindon Town are back to their best a slow start to the season.
Saturday's 1-0 win over League One leaders Huddersfield at the County Ground stretched their unbeaten run to five matches in all competitions.
Lucas told BBC Wiltshire: "In my opinion its as good as it was at any point last season.
"You've got to praise these lads. It just feels fresh at the moment. We've got to have confidence in ourselves."
Swindon were criticised for giving away sloppy goals at the beginning of the campaign but have now conceded just one in the last five.
"Last season we never believed totally that we were good enough to be up there," said Lucas.
"This year we've got to be aiming to be right up there.
"We're at the point now where the young lads are a year older. Its just believing in ourselves."
