Swindon's players have been taken away for a training break in a bid to avoid talk of promotion.

The Town are fifth in the League One table and are spending time at the National Sports Centre at Bisham Abbey ahead of the home game with Walsall.

Manager Danny Wilson told BBC Wiltshire: "There's some young lads who get excitable and we just have to calm them down a little bit.

"Their minds are swelling around. It can take your focus off sometimes."

Having moved into the automatic promotion places, Swindon have slipped back to fifth after losing at Colchester and being held to a draw by Exeter.

It's great with team bonding and to get on with the lads and its just good to get away

"Everything is 'if we do this and they do that' and we just want to take them away and come back on Saturday with a clear vision of what we need to do," Wilson added.

On-loan Bolton winger Danny Ward hopes the break will also help the players become even closer at a crucial time of the season.

Ward said: "It's great with team bonding and to get on with the lads and its just good to get away."
