Douglas joined Swindon in the summer after being released by Leeds United.
Swindon Town manager Danny Wilson says he is delighted to have midfielder Jonathan Douglas back in the squad after serving a four-game ban.
The Robins face Norwich in the quarter-final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday with Douglas due to start.
"We have missed him, there's no doubt about that," Wilson told BBC Wiltshire.
"That's all due respect to the boys who are playing but the reasons we brought him in the first place are exactly the reasons we've missed him."
The 27-year-old was banned after being sent off in an ill-tempered match against Millwall on 10 October.
He was initially suspended for three games but, following an unsuccessful appeal by Swindon, the ban was extended.
"It does rattle you to get the extra game, especially when you see players in the Premiership going in for even worse tackles and only getting three games," said Douglas.
"It's been tough going over the last month but I've been training hard with the fitness coach.
"The game against Norwich is going to be a good one. They've been playing well and everyone's looking forward to it.
