Wilson joined Swindon in December and kept them in League 1
Manager Danny Wilson has begun his rebuilding of Swindon by showing 13 of his squad the door and offering new deals to only four players.
The quartet who Wilson hopes to retain are goalkeeper Phil Smith, midfielder Craig Easton and defensive duo Lescinel Jean-Francois and Patrick Kanyuka.
However, Kanyuka has only been offered a short-team deal to stay at Town.
Keeper Peter Brezovan, striker Barry Corr and defenders Jamie Vincent and Jack Smith are among those released.
Kanyuka is currently recovering from a knee injury, the latest in a series of problems which have sidelined him in the last two years.
Given his history, he told BBC Wiltshire he was grateful to be offered a deal.
"I've been injured a few times this season so for the manager to offer me something, I really appreciate it and hope to repay him with my performances.
"I wasn't worried while I was playing, but after the latest injury I sat down and thought 'why is it happening to me'?
"I thought I'd messed up my chance but the manager has given me a lifeline," Kanyuka added.
Midfielders Michael Pook and Lilian Nalis have also been allowed to leave along with Blair Sturrock, Chris Allen, Tom Evans, Jake Hyde, Ben Joyce, Sam Morris and Hamdi Razak.
