| Wednesday, 5 February, 2003, 15:06 GMT Crosby hails Parkin Swindon assistant manager Malcolm Crosby believes striker Sam Parkin deserves much of the credit for the Robins' improved results. Parkin has been a revelation since being signed on a free transfer from Chelsea last summer and has netted 17 goals so far this season. "When you have someone capable of scoring 20 goals in a season, it makes a big difference," said Crosby. "Sam scores goals for us but he is also a good footballer. "He's very good technically and that's good to see in a striker. He uses the ball well which is an asset. "I saw him play for Chelsea's reserves and he was a good player, but perhaps not such a goal threat. "He is scoring goals now and I think that's because he is happy at the club. "When a player is happy and settled you see the results on the pitch." |
