Konstantopoulos has impressed while on loan at Swansea
Swansea City have lost the services of goalkeeper Dimi Konstantopoulos after the Football League refused to extend his loan until the end of the season.
The Greek stopper's loan spell from Coventry came to an end after Saturday's 2-2 draw at Southampton.
A deal to stay was agreed, but because of the snow, the paperwork was not signed before Monday's deadline.
Boss Roberto Martinez will now have to look for another keeper when the loan window opens again next week.
"It (the weather) was difficult especially in the Midlands," said Martinez.
"The area to get to the ground took two hours for Dimi to get to and it was impossible to sign the paperwork."
Konstantopoulos, 30, was drafted in last October when regular stopper Dorus de Vries suffered a fractured jaw and cheekbone.
He remained at the club as an understudy since the Dutchman returned from injury, but put in a fine display in the Swans 2-0 FA Cup win over holders Portsmouth last month.
Both club chairmen wrote to the Football League to ask for the special dispensation due to the adverse weather conditions, as was granted by the Premier League.
But they were turned down and because Konstantopoulos was signed on an emergency loan deal, he cannot extend his 93-day stay.
