Roberto Martinez has been on the lookout for a new goalkeeper |
Swansea City have completed the signing of Middlesbrough goalkeeper David Knight on a free transfer. The 20-year-old former Oldham and Darlington youngster is also an ex-England youth international.
Swansea boss Roberto Martinez has been on the lookout for a new goalkeeper ever since Willy Gueret left the club to join Milton Keynes Dons.
"We are delighted to secure the services of a player I firmly believe has great potential," said Martinez.
"He is a model pro, he's enthusiastic, looks after himself well and is a good trainer.
"He's been third choice at Middlesbrough but is now ready to challenge for first team football."
Dorus De Vries is the current number one at the club, with youngster Callum Hawthorne deputising on the bench so far this season.
Knight is expected to be on the bench for Swansea's game with Doncaster Rovers on Saturday at the Liberty Stadium.
