Akinfenwa has struggled for goals at Swansea

Akinfenwa has rejected an offer of a one-year deal and says negotiations on improved terms have "hit a brick wall".

The 25-year-old says he wants to stay at the Liberty Stadium but feels unwanted by the club's offer.

"I'll be hoping to each an agreement, but as it stands it looks like I won't be at Swansea next season," he said.

"I've got to feel like I'm appreciated. At the moment I don't feel like I'm appreciated at Swansea.

"I've talked to my family and agent and I think their offer shows a lack of appreciation."

Akinfenwa, who joined the Swans from Torquay United in 2005 for �150,000, scored just six goals in 31 appearances last season.

His season was ended in February when he broke his leg in a 2-0 home defeat to Scunthorpe United.

He is one of four out-of-contract players to be given a deadline of Tuesday to decide whether or not to accept new deals.

"It's the first time I've heard of such a thing, but I guess Swansea want to know who's going to be there next season," Akinfenwa told BBC Wales Sport.

"I guess they want to start preparing as soon as possible. But all the other players feel the same that these deals show a lack of appreciation.

"I've tried to meet Swansea halfway but I've just hit a brick wall."

Akinfenwa says he has already attracted offers from three other clubs and says he is confident of being fit for the start of the season.

"My aim is the first game of the season," he said. "I've been given the all-clear by a surgeon to start running.
