Swansea celebrations got out of hand at the Millennium Stadium |
Adebayo Akinfenwa says that Swansea's Football League Trophy win has been spoilt by the post-match controversy. Team-mates Lee Trundle and Alan Tate waved a flag with anti-Cardiff remarks on it following the win over Carlisle.
"Everyone is focussing on what happened after the game than actually the game, but then again we've got our medals - we won it," Akinfenwa said
"A little bit of the gloss is off but the bottom line is that we've got the trophy, so we just continue."
Trundle, who along with strike partner Akinfenwa scored the Swans' goals in the 2-1 win, was also photographed wearing a t-shirt with a cartoon showing a Swansea player urinating on a Cardiff shirt.
The Football Association of Wales and South Wales Police are investigating the incident.
Swansea midfielder Leon Britton, like Akinfenwa speaking on BBC Radio Wales' Midweek Sport programme, said it was now time to concentrate on chasing promotion from League One.
"We've got such a strong squad that hopefully from the last seven games we'll have everyone available," Britton said.
"But (automatic promotion) is out of our hands now and is down to other people to decide."
