Swansea City have given midfielder Owain Tudur Jones a one-year contract, just three days after signing the 20-year-old on a one-month deal. Jones impressed while on trial from Welsh Premier side Bangor City.
But his performances in pre-season have also caught the eye of Swansea's League One rivals Swindon and Tranmere Rovers.
"We'd settled on a month with Owain to begin with, but then Swindon and Tranmere made enquiries," Swans boss Kenny Jackett told the Evening Post.
"That made the situation a little different, and it was after Owain's display in the game at Forest Green Rovers on Tuesday that I was convinced I wanted to sign him up for the year.'
"Every week Owain has been with us he has improved and, at 20, I think he will keep on getting better now he's training full time."
Although Bangor are not entitled to a transfer fee, Jackett revealed that he would be contacting the Welsh Premier side to see if they could agree some reward for Jones' development - possibly in the form of a pre-season match.
