Sunderland must get tougher - Bent
Sunderland striker Darren Bent believes the key to forcing his way into Fabio Capello's England side is to continue his excellent club form on Wearside.
Bent was omitted from the England World Cup squad despite netting 25 goals for the Black Cats last season but remains hopeful of his international future.
"I know that my form has to be good for Sunderland to get picked for England," Bent told BBC Look North.
"The only way I'll do that is playing well for Sunderland week in week out."
The 26-year-old netted his first goal of the new campaign in Sunderland's 2-2 draw with Birmingham on Saturday.
