Edwards had been out with a hamstring injury |
Sunderland midfielder Carlos Edwards believes he can handle the pressure of returning to the side after recovering from his hamstring injury. Manager Roy Keane has been vocal in tipping the Trinidad winger to make an impact but Edwards has remained relaxed about the expectation surrounding him.
"I'm very grateful that people wanted me back," he told BBC Radio Newcastle.
"If the fans don't speak to you then you know you're not important. I take the burden with good responsibility."

It was a relief for both player and manager Roy Keane that Edwards came through Sunday's Chelsea game unscathed.
The target for the former Luton winger now is to play his part in Sunderland's escape act over the next eight games.
"Everyone was eager for me to come back and unfortunately it wasn't the result that reflected the game," he said.
"I want to play my part, even if it's five minutes, ten minutes, and the rest of the lads are the same.
"We're keeping our fingers crossed that things go to plan for the rest of the season."
