Tony Pulis is the first manager to take Stoke City to the FA Cup final

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has said he will prepare for the FA Cup final as he would for a Premier League game.

The Potters will appear in the final for the first time in their history against Manchester City on Saturday.

Pulis believes approaching the game in a regular manner will give Stoke the best chance of winning at Wembley.

"We'll do it as close to what we normally do and keep everybody's feet on the ground," he told BBC Radio Stoke after the 3-1 win over Arsenal.

Pulis' side are up to eighth in the Premier League after extending their unbeaten run at the Britannia Stadium, which stretches back to December.

Goals from Kenwyne Jones, Jermaine Pennant and Jon Walters ended a sequence of four straight Premier League defeats against the Gunners.

"It was a great result and a great performance," said Pulis. "We really deserved to win it.

"We were really pleased with their commitment. It shows the spirit that we've got in the camp.

"We're on a fantastic run and what we've got to do now is prepare them properly for what will be a great, great day."

Around 28,000 Stoke supporters will be at Wembley as the Potters aim to win the second major trophy in the club's history.

Their first was the League Cup, which they won in 1972 by beating Chelsea 2-1 with George Eastham scoring the winner.
