Pulis (l) consoles Brighton boss Gustavo Poyet after Stoke's win
Stoke City manager Tony Pulis praised the attitude of his side in Saturday's 3-0 FA Cup fifth round win over League One leaders Brighton.
First-half goals from John Carew, Jon Walters and Ryan Shawcross sealed the Potters a place in the last eight for the second successive year.
Pulis told BBC Radio Stoke: "We worked very hard all over the pitch.
"Without the players' commitment and attitude, irrespective of what the manager does, you're not going to win."
Pulis reserved special praise for Walters, who scored his seventh goal following a £2.75m move from Ipswich in August.
"I thought he was fantastic and it shows that there are players in the lower leagues, given the opportunity, who can step up," said the Stoke boss.
The Potters now travel to Arsenal in the Premier League on Wednesday, with winger Matthew Etherington an injury doubt.
The former West Ham man lasted just 39 minutes against the Seagulls before being withdrawn.
"He's got a little defect in his jaw line, but we're hoping to sort that on Monday," said Pulis. "He'll get a jaw guard, hopefully that will put everything in place and he'll be fine for Wednesday."
