Ryan Shawcross has scored 12 goals in 85 appearances for Stoke City
Stoke City assistant manager Peter Reid believes defender Ryan Shawcross is capable of forcing his way into the full England squad.
Shawcross won two caps for the under-21 side and former England midfielder Reid believes he can win full honours.
"He's got a good football brain and all the attributes to be a top player," Reid told BBC Radio Stoke.
"He's pacey, he can handle things in the air and he'll get stronger. He's a great prospect to go all the way."
Shawcross is in talks over a new contract at the Britannia Stadium.
The former Manchester United youngster was linked with several Premier League clubs in the summer, but Reid thinks his international chances will not be affected if he remains with the Potters.
"Other players have proved it, like Gary Cahill at Bolton and Matthew Upson at West Ham," said Reid.
"Fabio Capello is a shrewd man and he's got a fantastic scouting network, so if Ryan keeps playing well for Stoke City, he'll get a chance."
