Ian Holloway played with Tony Pulis as a youngster at Bristol Rovers
Stoke City manager Tony Pulis deserves a statue outside the Britannia Stadium for the job he has done at Stoke City, former team mate Ian Holloway has said.
In three years, Pulis has taken Stoke from the bottom of the Championship to 12th in the Premier League.
Holloway told BBC Radio Stoke: "In Tony Pulis, everybody should trust.
"They maybe didn't do that when he came back, but they should be building a statue to him now, and I think they'll do it again this year as well."
Pulis and Holloway have been close friends ever since they played together at Bristol Rovers in the early 1980's.
The Blackpool manager is godfather to Pulis's son Anthony, who now plays for League One side Southampton.
Stoke start their second campaign in the Premier League with a home game against Burnley on Saturday.
