Stoke offer new contract to Diao

Salif Diao
Diao is thinking over whether to extend his stay with the Potters

Stoke City have offered Senegal international Salif Diao, 32, a new one-year contract.

Diao joined the Potters in January 2007 and made 17 starts in the Premier League this season.

Meanwhile Stoke are releasing four players after manager Tony Pulis announced his retained list on Tuesday.

Vincent Pericard, Tom Thorley, Jimmy Phillips and Marc Grocott have all left the Britannia Stadium following the club's survival in the Premier League.

Pericard, 26, departs the Potters after playing eight games and scoring one goal this season, in the penalty shootout Carling Cup victory over Reading.

Thorley, Phillips and Grocott all graduated through the academy system last summer, when they accepted one-year deals.

Meanwhile young goalkeeper Danzelle St Louis-Hamilton has accepted a new one-year deal.

The 19 year-old ended last season on loan at League One club Bristol Rovers.
