Pulis confident of Everton upset

Tony Pulis
Pulis's side have yet to win away from home in the Premier League

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has said his players can upset the form book and win at Everton this Saturday.

The Potters are unbeaten in their last three games and face an Everton side that have lost just once in 19 matches in all competitions.

Pulis told BBC Radio Stoke: "We'll give it our best shot, we've gone to Aston Villa and done well and we will hope to do the same at Goodison Park."

Stoke will be strengthened by Matthew Etherington's return from suspension.

The Potters are just one point above the relegation zone after picking up five points from the last nine on offer.

It's not about Beattie, it's about Stoke City, and it's very important we approach the game in the right manner

And Pulis added: "It'll be one of our toughest remaining fixtures, they're powerful and can compete against the more physical teams and have the ability to play football."

James Beattie will be returning to one of his former clubs on Saturday looking to prove a point.

Beattie moved to Goodison Park for 6m in 2005 but only found the net 13 times in 86 appearances for the Toffees.

In contrast, the 30-year old has scored five goals in just seven starts for the Potters but Pulis has been quick to play down the impact of his 3.5m signing.

"It's not about Beattie, it's about Stoke City, and it's very important we approach the game in the right manner, we're focused on that.

"He's scored five goals for us and we just hope that continues."
