Stoke City midfielder Salif Diao has returned from the club's training camp in the United Arab Emirates after picking up a calf injury.
The 31-year-old has now flown back to the Potteries for a scan on the injury.
The Senegal international has missed Stoke's last six Premier League games with a similar injury.
Meanwhile, defender Danny Higginbotham is awaiting the results of a scan on the calf injury he picked in Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Chelsea.
