Danny Higginbotham scored Stoke's first goal in the 2-1 win over Spurs
Stoke City defender Danny Higginbotham says that the support of the passionate Potters fans is "magnificent."
Three of City's four home games this season have been watched by capacity crowds at the Britannia Stadium.
And Higginbotham told BBC Radio Stoke: "The fans are magnificent. You can't beat the atmosphere at the Britannia.
"The fans definitely give us that little something extra, particularly in tight games. They are proving to be invaluable to us."
Higginbotham scored from the penalty spot in the Potters' 2-1 win over Spurs on Sunday.
Stoke's second win of the season lifted them five points clear of the North Londoners at the bottom of the Premier League table - and Higginbotham now admits what a real 'six pointer' it was.
"A lot of people outside the club were talking up the importance of the Tottenham game," he said. "And we were trying not to dwell on that.
"But you can't hide from the fact it was a big game and, if it had gone the other way, then we would have been bottom of the table, which isn't nice.
"We got the result that we deserved, and it's up to us to build on that."
