Williams signed a new contract with County earlier this year |
Stockport captain Ashley Williams has learned he is facing only around six weeks out of action with a knee injury. Fears that the defender might have been ruled out for the season after he was injured against Peterborough on Saturday were allayed following a scan.
The 23-year-old has ruptured a collateral medial ligament and could now be back in action before Christmas.
Meanwhile, the Hatters have recalled defender James Tunnicliffe, 18, from his loan spell at Northwich Victoria.
Also, County goalkeeper Chris Adamson, 29, has asked to leave Edgeley Park.
Adamson has failed to make an appearance since signing from Sheffield Wednesday in June.
