Peterborough saw off Stockport to move up to fourth in the League Two table. Stockport started well but Peterborough had chances too, and Hatters keeper Conrad Logan had to keep out a blistering effort from Chris Westwood.
Craig Mackail-Smith volleyed Posh in front but McNeill levelled when he headed home a loose ball following Jason Taylor's long throw.
Aaron McClean restored Posh's lead with a fine finish from Jamie Day's throw and the visitors held on to triumph.
