Southend United have signed pre-contract agreements with Northampton left-back Peter Gilbert and Exeter striker Barry Corr.
The pair have agreed to sign for the Essex side on free transfers once the club's transfer embargo is lifted.
Gilbert will join up with Blues manager Paul Sturrock, for whom he played under at Sheffield Wednesday and Plymouth.
The club have also confirmed that they have agreed to release defender Simon Francis from his contract.
