Southend United striker Harry Crawford has signed his first professional contract at the club.
The 18-year-old, who made two starts at the end of last season and scored on his full debut against Stockport, has signed a two-year deal.
Crawford told the club's website: "I'm really proud to commit my future to the football club.
"The end of last season was brilliant for me, hopefully I can carry on under the new manager."
Crawford's form earned him a call-up to the Republic of Ireland under-19 squad in May.
Meanwhile, Southend have cancelled pre-season friendlies at home to Ipswich on Friday and away to Canvey Island on Monday.
The Blues squad returned to training on Monday and with just 10 professionals on the books, with new manager Paul Sturrock wanting them to focus on getting back to match fitness first.
Sturrock has also re-entered a reserve team back into the Combination League, after previous boss Steve Tilson opted to withdraw from the competition.
