League One club Southend United have appointed former manager David Webb as their assistant boss until the end of the season.
Webb replaces former assistant Paul Brush, who was dismissed as Steve Tilson's number two on Monday.
It will be the former Chelsea and Brentford boss's fourth spell as part of the Blues' managerial team.
His most successful period came from 1990 to 1992 when he oversaw successive promotions from Division Four.
His last spell at Roots Hall was in a caretaker role for four games in November 2003 following the departure of Steve Wignall, before being succeeded by Tilson.
Southend currently sit 22nd in League One and have yet to win in 2010.
