Southend United have bolstered their defensive options with the signing of Dorian Dervite from Tottenham.
The 20-year-old central defender has joined on loan until the end of the season as the Blues look to safeguard their League One status.
Dervite has made one first-team appearance for Spurs after signing from Lille in 2006.
He told BBC Essex: "It's good for me to come out and play some games and I've been impressed with what I've seen."
Dervite has been a regular in the Tottenham reserve team but a knee injury sidelined him for a year.

"I need to be playing first team football and League One is a good level," he said.
"I enjoy English football as it's physical and more aggressive."
