Tottenham have made their second signing of the summer with the capture of France Under-18 captain Dorian Dervite from Ligue 1 side Lille.
Sporting director Damien Comolli told the club website: "Dorian is a tall, strong defender with excellent technical skills.
"We believe he comes to us with enormous potential for the future."
Dervite will arrive at White Hart Lane on 1 July and will begin next season with the club's development squad.
He has made nine appearances in all for France's Under-17s, featuring in all six of their European Under-17 Championship qualifiers in 2005.
Since then he stepped into the U18s squad, playing in recent internationals against Germany and Romania.
Dervite follows Dimitar Berbatov, a �10.9m signing from Bayer Leverkusen, to the club.
