Southampton's Adam Lallana hopes to follow the success of former team-mates Theo Walcott and Gareth Bale.
The 22-year-old midfielder is a product of the Saints academy, as were defender Bale, who is now at Tottenham, and Arsenal forward Walcott.
"I look up to them, I want to be there one day," he told BBC Radio Solent.
"It's great to see how they've both moved on. They developed quickly and I want to do that for Southampton and win promotion with them."
He added: "They were the year below me, then they were in front of me before I even blinked.
"Both had iffy starts at their new clubs but to see them both come through and score in the Champions League, I hope they maintain it and keep going."
Lallana bagged his fifth goal of the season on Saturday to help beat Shrewsbury 2-0 in the FA Cup.
