Shrewsbury Town have parted company with New Zealand international striker Kris Bright by mutual consent.

The 24-year-old has had limited opportunities to break into Graham Turner's side after returning from a shoulder injury.

He joined Town in August 2009 after impressing former manager Paul Simpson.

Bright, who was on stand-by for New Zealand's 2010 World Cup squad, was recommended to Simpson after impressing during a trial with Norwich City.

In the 28 games he played for Shrewsbury he only managed to score two goals. And, following Jake Robinson's resurgence in form and the summer arrival of Matt Harrold, Bright has found himself further down the pecking order.

Bright, who has represented New Zealand from Under-15s up to senior level, missed out on the final 23-man squad for the 2010 World Cup but was named as one of seven non-travelling reserves.

He joined Shrewsbury after leaving Greek side Panserraikos by mutual consent.
