Tutte made seven League One appearances for Rochdale this season

Shrewsbury Town have signed Manchester City midfielder Andrew Tutte on a month-long loan deal.

Town boss Graham Turner completed the deal just before the emergency loan transfer window was closed.

Tutte, 20, spent the first three months of this season loan at Rochdale, making nine first-team appearances.

"You need someone who can go straight into the side, improve the first XI rather than just the squad," Turner told BBC Radio Shropshire.

Tutte, a product of City's academy, has also been involved with the England under-19s and under-20s.

"He had a successful loan at Rochdale and wants to get more first-team football under his belt," said Turner.

"It's coming to a busy part of the season where form and injuries will play a part, so to have someone as exciting as Andrew will give us a boost."
