Turner forges Shrewsbury Town links with Birmingham
Turner is in his second spell as Shrewsbury manager
New Shrewsbury Town manager Graham Turner has started forging links with Premier League sides in the Midlands.
"I had good relations with several clubs when I was at Hereford," the former Wolves and Villa boss told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"If they know we're a good club, then they're more likely to help us out with a loan player here and there."
The Shrews played a behind-closed-doors friendly with Birmingham on Tuesday, with Blues winning 4-2.
"It was a really tough workout, just what I wanted," said Turner.
"Birmingham had all their big players there for at least part of the game, and it was pleasing to see us create chances and score a couple."
Lewis Neal and Benji van den Broek were on target for Shrewsbury.
Turner was renowned in his Hereford days for strengthening the squad with loan players, but he added that he is still looking to strengthen the Shrewsbury squad with some permanent signings.
