Shrewsbury striker Dave Hibbert could make a quick return from his groin injury and may feature in their League Two clash with Aldershot on Saturday.
The Shrews' top scorer, who has netted 14 goals this season, missed their 1-0 home defeat by leaders Rochdale after suffering a tear to his groin.
Manager Paul Simpson told BBC Radio Shropshire: "There's an outside chance he could be back this Saturday.
"The injury is not as bad as we had first thought."
It was originally feared that Hibbert's injury would keep him out of action for up to a month.
Simpson added: "We will see how he gets on this week. But if it's not this weekend then hopefully he will be ready for the week after."
Despite being the Shrews' top scorer this season, Hibbert has failed to find the net in his last eight games.
