Shrewsbury Town hit by Craig Disley injury blow

Craig Disley
Disley would be back for the last three games if he is out for eight weeks

Shrewsbury midfielder Craig Disley has been ruled out for eight weeks with a broken ankle.

Disley, who has missed four months this term with a knee injury, came off in Monday's 1-1 draw at Rotherham after catching his foot in a challenge.

"He's in a bad way, and it's a massive blow," Town boss Paul Simpson told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"We'd just got to the stage where everyone was fit and available for us, and we go and lose Craig."

Disley was taken back to Shrewsbury after the Rotherham game and X-rayed in hospital.

Early advice is that he will be out of action for two months - taking him close to the end of the League Two season.

Another absentee in Shrewsbury's next game - at home to Bournemouth this Saturday - will be Shane Cansdell-Sherriff. He picked up a 10th booking at Rotherham, which means an automatic two-game ban.
