Bright trialled for Norwich before joining Shrewsbury
Striker Kris Bright is determined to become a Shrewsbury regular as he tries to book a place in New Zealand's World Cup squad.
The 23-year-old has failed to secure a starting place at the Prostar since joining the Shrews in the summer.
Bright, who has four caps for his country, told BBC Radio Shropshire:" I know I will prove a good signing.
"Getting to the finals will inspire me to work even harder and to get the national coach to notice me again."
Bright, who signed a two-year deal with Shrewsbury in July, was a standby player for New Zealand's final qualifying win over Bahrain.
He was due to start Shrewsbury's opening League Two game against Burton but was prevented from taking part by a delay in his international clearance from Greece where he played for Panserraikos in the Greek Super League.
Since then he has not been able to displace the in-form Dave Hibbert.
But he remains determined to kickstart his Shrewsbury career and get to next summer's finals in South Africa.
"Getting to the finals is a big thing for New Zealand, as we always seem to be edged out by Australia," he said.
"The papers are full of it and there was a capacity 35,000 crowd for the Bahrain game.
"I've played for my country four times before and the coach knows me and keeps in touch. If I work even harder now I'll get my just rewards in the end."
