Shrewsbury's Paul Murray feels some home truths coupled with the signings of Jamie Devitt and Waide Fairhurst have turned things round at the club.
Town's 3-1 success over Aldershot came off the back of three defeats.
The midfielder told BBC Radio Shropshire: "That was a massive win. We'd spelt out a few words of wisdom, and two new faces gave us a lift.
"Fairhurst was sharp up front and took his goal brilliantly, and I was delighted Nathan Elder got a goal too."
Elder - signed from Brentford in the summer - had been feeling the pressure after scoring only once previously for the Shrews, away to Barnet in mid-August.

Town boss Paul Simpson said: "I've heard the grumbles from fans about him, but you know what you'll get from Nathan. He'll put himself about and work his socks off.
"He'll get a lot of satisfaction from that goal, and hopefully his performances will improve even more."
Murray himself has shrugged off an ankle injury from earlier in the season.
"I love running about, getting tackles in, and I'm really enjoying myself," the 33-year-old added, "and long may it continue."
