Shrewsbury boss Paul Simpson has revealed he hopes to sign a Premier League or Championship player on loan in the coming days.
"I've made enquiries, and clubs have said they want to get their pre-season programmes out of the way first," he told BBC Radio Shropshire.
Shrewsbury are looking to replace top scorer Grant Holt, who joined Norwich.
"I won't rush," Simpson added. "There are still many players looking for clubs, and I'll keep calm about it."
Simpson's desk is adorned by a mug bearing the logo 'Keep Calm and Carry On' - a recent birthday gift from his wife.
"The end of July marks the severance of contracts for players around the country who've refused terms or who haven't wanted to re-sign, so there could be plenty of movement in the next week or so," he said.
"I know some fans are worried we haven't signed enough players - but everything will be ready for our opening League game against Burton on 8 August."
